We'll be running our free guided tours made up of the 4x4 Heritage Tour, Fossil Forest Walking Tour and back for July, the Heritage Walking Tour.

You can book/register interest below, be aware there are limited spaces and they do go fast.

We'll have our outdoor cafe area with refreshments on the go again as it went down so well last time.

There will be a small offering of food, snacks and hot & cold drinks.

There will also be a selection of stalls including groups from the heritage project and external organisations.

We'll have the Heritage Orchard Project selling their products with information about what they do.

An area of free play promoting the work that Gareth and the team do within the local community and schools.

Heritage Project

There will be a stand with updates and information about the Heritage and Roots to Shoots Projects.

You'll have the opportunity to speak with a member of the team to ask any questions or find out more information about the overall project.

Tour Booking

There are limited spaces available on our tours. Please fill out the form below and we will get back to you confirming your request. Please read the important information about our tours.

Fossil Forest Walking Tour

An in-depth look at the fossils we have on-site dating back 314 million years.

Led by Dr Tim Astrop our palaeontologist, you will get a detailed but digestible understanding of what species of plant life once stood here in Brymbo.

He will also talk about the important connection to the industrial heritage.

Approx: 45 - 55 Mins

Heritage Walking Tour

Find out about the Iron and Steel Industry that once thrived in Brymbo.

As you wander through the site you’ll get a descriptive tour providing you with information about the buildings we have still standing and some that have long since gone.

You’ll finish off with the chance to take a step back in time within our oldest building on site (the Agent’s House) with imagery and information about the industrial processes and life at the works.

Approx: 50 - 60 Mins

4X4 Tours

The 4x4 tour takes you out across to Lodge Valley Park to experience its historic development and current plans.

You’ll also get some interesting information about the work we’re currently doing as part of our Roots to Shoots Project.

Then onto the main Heritage site to visit the iron and steel-making historic areas, with information about current and future plans

Approx: 40 - 50 Mins

Extra Information

There’s parking on-site and we’re looking to have more space available close by as overflow parking.

We have toilets on site in the main heritage area near our outdoor cafe

Card payments:
We can take card payments in our outdoor cafe.

We advise wearing walking shoes or trainers on site. In its current state the site still has many uneven surfaces, some level changes and inclines that make sections unsuitable for people with mobility difficulties. Rectifying these barriers is a key part of our restoration plans as part of Stori Brymbo. Meanwhile we advise contacting us to discuss further.

We ask that all dogs/pets are kept on a lead at all times.
